NEMA Team Changes
Deputy Director BJ Larson has retired from NEMA after 12 years. She has been a familiar face within the organization, whether coordinating our professional affinity groups, organizing educational programming, or staffing the walk-in registration booth at NEMA’s annual conference. BJ is moving to Florida with her husband Mike, where she hopes to continue her involvement in the museum field. Best wishes to B.J.!
With her departure, the NEMA team has been reconfigured.
Heather A. Riggs, formerly Communications and Operations Manager, has been appointed Director of Administration. Heather will continue her work as the technical and operations “guru” of NEMA, managing the website and communications strategies, but will now oversee NEMA’s financial and personnel systems as well.
Meg Winikates, formerly Membership and Advocacy Manager, has been appointed Director of Engagement. Meg will now be responsible for leading NEMA’s professional development programs and coordinating the professional affinity groups, along with continuing her role in managing NEMA’s advocacy efforts.
Scarlett V. Hoey has been hired as NEMA’s Manager of Membership and Development starting October 2, 2017. Read more about Scarlett’s background here.
