- Workshops and seminars - NEMA offers 14-20 one-day programs every year. Most of our workshops are created by NEMA's 13 Professional Affinity Groups; this allows us to offer professional development to the widest range of specific groups and disciplines within the museum community. Subjects include: museum administration, membership & development, collections care, legal & advocacy issues, exhibitions, education & programming, and topics of particular concern to small museums, children's museums or university museums. Additional programs are created in collaboration with a wide range of other organizations such as the American Association of Museums and the Northeast Document Conservation Center.
- Networking - NEMA has 13 Professional Affinity Groups. Few museum professionals only work in one specific area, so NEMA has created a network of experienced museum professionals to help you, your staff, and volunteers, with a wide variety of museum work. All members of NEMA have free access to the advice, support and programming offered by all the PAGs.
- Institutional members have access to our Museum Policy Loan Service. These sample policies come from a wide range of museums, including: museum by-laws, codes of ethics, collection policies, disaster action plans, loan agreement forms & policies, mission statements, organizational charts, performance evaluation forms, personnel policies, preservation plans, and strategic plans. Institutional Members are encouraged to submit policies for this valuable resource.
- Use of NEMA's mailing list for museum events and programs. You may receive one list per year at no charge. Additional lists are available for a small fee. Please call to discuss your particular requirements and restrictions.
- Request for Proposals (RFP) Distribution Service: NEMA has established a listserv for our Corporate Members that will enable us to forward any RFP (Request for Proposals) created by Institional Members.

- Each spring NEMA holds a Publications Competition for member museums. The winning publications are announced in the summer issue of NEMA News, and displayed at our annual conference.
