Publications

  • NEMA News - a quarterly journal devoted to vital issues in the museum profession.
  • NEMA Jobs - List staff and volunteer positions on the NEMA website. The first listing is free; a small fee applies for additional listings. Unpaid internships and volunteer listings are always free.
  • Corporate Members are entitled to a discounted rates on our publications, including: The Salary and Benefits Survey and The Employer's Handbook.

Professional Development and Networking

  • Annual Conference - a three-day annual gathering where more than 800 New England museum professionals gather to explore issues, debate options, and share news.
  • Workshops and seminars - NEMA offers 14-20 one-day programs every year. Many of our workshops are created by NEMA's 13 Professional Affinity Groups; this allows us to offer professional development to the widest range of specific groups and disciplines within the museum community. Subjects include: museum administration, membership & development, collections care, legal & advocacy issues, exhibitions, education & programming, and topics of particular concern to small museums, children's museums or university museums.
  • Member Discussion Lists - NEMA Collections; NEMA Interpretation and Public Programs; NEMA Administration and Facilities; and NEMA IMP (Independent Museum Professional) and Corporate Issues.   • Request for Proposals (RFP) Distribution Service: Moderated ListServ: Keep informed and networked with other professionals working with the museum community. You’ll also have the opportunity to receive RFPs from New England museums. The listserv can be found at http://lists.topica.com/lists/nemalist. This list is a private list and approval is needed to join. Please contact NEMA to be added.

Products and Services Directory
Only Corporate Members and Independent Museum Profesionals may be included in NEMA's Products and Services Directory. Large and Small Corporate Members receive a complimentary listing of their contact information. Company description and a client list for references can be added for a fee of just $10. The P&S Directory is updated on a continuous basis.

Advertising in NEMA News

  • Corporate Members receive substantial discounts on advertisements in our quarterly journal, NEMA News. (circulation 2,500)
  • Visibility for your firm with announcements, listings, and personnel changes in NEMA News.

Mailing Labels
Opportunities to mail information to NEMA members. Large Corporate Members may receive one complimentary list each year. Additional lists are available for a modest fee. Restrictions may apply; please call to discuss your particular requirements.
