Early Bird Registration

Why register Early-by-Mail?
  • You will save money
  • This is your only opportunity to purchase conference lunch tickets. They will not be sold on-site.
  • No waiting in line at the meeting
  • Better chance of tickets for limited registration events
  • Your name will appear on the registration list
  • A conference packet and a name-tag will be waiting for you

Registration Fees


Volunteer
All volunteer postions have been filled at this time.
We are looking for volunteers to assist us throughout the conference, staffing the registration desk, checking meeting rooms between sessions, supervising off-site travel arrangements, and more. Volunteers who work one shift can attend the rest of that day for free. For working three shifts, volunteers receive a complimentary registration for the whole meeting. Preference is given to individuals who live near the conference site.

Roommate Matching Service
Save on the cost of your hotel room by sharing with a colleague. If you are looking for someone to room with, call the NEMA office (781-641-0013) with your name, phone number, smoking preference, and the number of nights you will be staying. We’ll call you with roommate contact information as soon as we find a match.

The reservation deadline has passed. Please call the hotel directly to reserve your room at the NEMA Conference Rate (based on availability). Make sure to mention that you are attending the NEMA Conference.

Room rate:
$125 Single or Double. Special room requests may be indicated, but cannot be guaranteed (king bed, etc.) Reservations must be made by October 21st to guarantee conference rates.

Call the NEMA office (781-641-0013) if you are willing to drive a colleague to Warwick.

Need to catch a ride to the conference?
Call the NEMA office (781-641-0013) with your name, phone number, where you will be driving from, and when you need a ride. We’ll call you with contact information if we hear from a colleague going your way! NEMA does not guarantee that transportation will be available.

NEMA Professional Development Award
Established to make the annual conference financially accessible. It helps support travel, lodging and registration for Individual Members of NEMA and employees of NEMA Institutional Members at the NEMA Annual Conference. Stipends are awarded to conference attendees with special emphasis on new professionals or first-time attendees. Awards of up to $300 are available depending on the availability of funds in any given year. It is expected that recipients and/or their institution will provide some of the costs of attending the Annual Conference.

The Laura B. Roberts Scholarship
A $500 stipend is awarded to support travel, lodging and registration. Priority for this scholarship will be given to graduates of the Tufts Certificate, Bank Street Museum Leadership, and Cooperstown programs.

University Products Curatorial Fellowship
The Curator’s Professional Affinity Group, with support from University Products, provides a $300 stipend to be used for a three-day conference registration. Any curator who has worked in the field five years or less, and works for an institution with an annual budget of $250,000 or less, may apply for the award.

Gaylord Bros., Small Museum Scholarship
$500 stipend is awarded to support travel, lodging and registration. Staff members or volunteers from institutions with an annual budget of $250,000 or less are eligible. This scholarship has been provided with support from Gaylord Bros.

The John Nicholas Brown Center Historic Sites Fellowship
This $500 stipend is awarded to support travel, lodging and registration for a full conference registration. Staff members from history museums with an annual budget of $250,000 or less are eligible, with priority given to staff members at historic house museums or historic site museums. This scholarship has been provided with support from the Public Humanities Program at Brown University.
